January 25, 2010
Think changing apartments is tough? Try moving thousands of people into floors of empty work space. Gretchen Fox and her team at Fox RPM bring order to chaos for companies building or moving into new offices, here and in DC. |
We snapped Gretchen, Peter Stein, and Jane Menton putting together a pitch for a downtown construction project. Selling businesses on the need for a relocation or project management team is easier than when Gretchen started the company 22 years ago. Not only was she one of few, if any, women in the room, but relo and PM services were a new idea for potential clients. ?Every marketing presentation was a double effort,? she recalled. It seems like she's got it under control now. Proof? She was recently able to steal away for a few days in Florida with her physicist husband. |
Katy Emmott and Ed Rybak pour over swatches and finishes for one of the biggest suburban leases of '09, Avid Technologies move into 200k SF of former Sun Microsystems space in Burlington?s Northwest Park. Fox will oversee parts of the renovation and, by summer, get all the boxes moved into the right cubicles. |
Amy Chee, Krystle Foley, and Patrick Connolly are working on floor plans for their projects. Amy is running the construction and relo of Staples? regional sales offices. Krystle is planning space and coordinating internal moves for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts in Boston (at The Landmark Center in the Fenway), Springfield, and Worcester. Patrick is directing the set up of new labs at Harvard?s Northwest Science Center, handling specialized equipment like freezers, hoods, and centrifuges. |
