| Wait, who's this guy? Well, after George W. and Rick Perry, being a Texan with "governor" in your title will at least get you a second look. Speaking at Bisnow's Future of Texas two-day conference last week, this is Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst. He isn't leading a sing-along above, he's telling our crowd that many things contribute to the state's success; he shares the main ingredient in this video. Texas' total revenue increased 13.4% over the last year, and the state has balanced five straight budgets while cutting taxes. |

Texas has five of the top 10 US housing markets, has outpaced the national job growth rate each year since '04, has doubled the national rate of population growth, and has had lower unemployment than the national average since '06. In fact, Texas now has more jobs than at the peak of the market. |
