With no games at Fenway today, we just got our rendering autographed. Two weeks ago, an affiliate of The Hanover Insurance Group paid $5M for about 11 acres of land and signed a 17-year lease with Unum to take the entire new building, says The Hanover?s Mike Buckley. Hanover bought the land from Berkeley Investments, which had planned CitySquare as a 2.2M SF mixed-use complex on about 20 acres. Leggat McCall will develop the building where a vacant shopping mall and a parking garage will be demolished and will master plan the rest of Hanover?s land. Unum, which will move its 700 employees from 18 Chestnut St. into the space designed by Arrowstreet, was represented in its lease by Colliers Meredith & Grew's Ron Perry, John Carroll, Pat Buckley,Dan Quinn, and Jessica Sawyer.
