There is a new partner at one of Boston’s leading development firms.

Abe Menzin is now a principal at Samuels & Associates, the company announced Thursday morning. Menzin, who was the firm’s executive vice president of development, has been with the company since 2010.

“As a firm, we may be best known for the buildings and the neighborhood experience they create, but the engine behind that work is our people,” Samuels & Associates Chairman and principal Steve Samuels said in a statement. “During his time with our team, Abe has been 100% invested in not only creating world-class projects but doing so in a way that contributes to the city. His contributions have been immeasurable, and we are glad to add him to the senior leadership team.”

During his time at Samuels & Associates, Menzin has been involved with several of the firm’s developments in the Fenway, Back Bay and Dorchester neighborhoods.

Menzin oversaw construction at Van Ness, a mixed-use project that includes the Fenway’s first lab user, and led the planning and financing at 401 Park, the redevelopment of the former Landmark Center. His work on Parcel 12 may be his most ambitious yet, as the project at 1001 Boylston St. is slated to be the first air rights project built over the Massachusetts Turnpike since the Copley Place mall in the 1980s.

“The common thread across the projects Abe has led for our team is their increasing technical complexity,” Samuels & Associates principal Peter Sougarides said in a statement. “Abe is also outstanding in listening to the community and creatively thinking about how our projects can shape a neighborhood — from the ground floor retail uses to public amenities like new parks, skating rinks and community spaces.”
