Cushman & Wakefield Lures Two More From Transwestern RBJ
The leak of Transwestern RBJ talent to Cushman & Wakefield continues.
C&W announced Monday Thomas Ashe and Robert Byrne have joined its Boston firm as executive director and managing director, respectively. The two were previously partners at Transwestern RBJ.
“Cushman has a global brand in a global platform that I certainly have not had the ability to experience in my past positions, so that was a big decision-making point,” Byrne said.
The two are the latest in a string of high-level Transwestern talent leaving for C&W. Bob Richards, a founding partner of the former Richards Barry Joyce & Partners (Houston-based Transwestern acquired RBJ in 2013), left his role as partner and joined C&W earlier this month as executive vice chairman. Michael Joyce, another RBJ founding partner, announced in January he was leaving to join C&W as a vice chairman.
The departures are not a joint exodus, according to Byrne.
“It was four very independent decisions,” he said. “It’s four guys in very different points in their careers.”
Ashe will be a part of the downtown leasing group while Byrne will focus on the south and central Route 128 submarkets.
“Tom and Rob are proven team players who have separated themselves from their peer group. Each brings positive energy and enthusiasm to their work with clients as well as to their colleagues in the office,” C&W Managing Principal and New England Market Leader Carolyn Sidor said in a prepared statement. “They are among the best in the business today in their respective submarkets. We are thrilled they have chosen Cushman & Wakefield to advance their careers and the best interests of their clients.”
