Where Smaller is Bigger
Do more with less, advises ADD Inc. (now with Stantec) VP Fred Kramer. His design team colleagues are finding that, across the board, clients are asking for “smaller.” Fred adds that the next generation (Millennials, that is) seem more comfortable in smaller places, and square footage is shrinking among all new product, from office space to hotels to multifamily housing. As well, empty nester Baby Boomers are redefining the multifamily sector as they, like Millennials, appreciate a dynamic and high energy urban mixed-use environment. Fred’s team is working on a Yotel hotel in the Seaport: Smaller rooms and more of them offer more hospitality choices. For more info on our Bisnow partner, click here.
