Suffolk Ventures Hires Former BPDA Planning Director For VP Post
The former top planner for the city of Boston will now play a critical role for the investment division at Suffolk.
Former Boston Planning and Development Agency Director of Planning Sara Myerson has been named as vice president at Suffolk Ventures, the company announced Thursday. Suffolk’s investment arm provides late-stage, pre-development capital to real estate developers.
“Sara’s background in real estate, finance and policy, along with her expertise in neighborhood transformations and strategic developments, will be an incredible asset to developers who need assistance making their development visions a reality,” Suffolk CEO and Suffolk Ventures principal John Fish said in a prepared statement.
While at the BPDA, Myerson oversaw planning, urban design and zoning work with a focus on working in partnership with the community to guide inclusive growth and shape the future of Boston. She stepped down in January after working there since 2016.
She joins a list of several high-profile hires Suffolk has made in the last year. It recently hired former GE Vice President Puneet Mahajan as an executive vice president and chief financial officer. In 2018, the construction firm hired former state Sen. Linda Dorcena Forry as vice president of diversity, inclusion and community relations.
