We'll Never See How The 'Sausage Parcel' Gets Made
What a journey it's been for the "Sausage Parcel" at 399 Congress St—so named for its narrow shape and smoky aftertaste.
First, Madison Properties got approval for a hotel. It was never built.
Then in 2012, plans arose to build an apartment complex. The city said no because it wanted those sweet, sweet hotel rooms to go with the convention center.
In 2013, a revised apartment plan did get approval—but was never built.
Now, Madison has washed its hands of the property, selling it for $36M (a big profit on the $5.6M it paid) to Miami-based Crescent Heights America. No plans have been revealed. [Curbed]
