Apartment High-Rise Coming To Boston Landing
New Balance and John Hancock Financial unveiled plans today for The Residences at Boston Landing, a 295-unit residential high-rise next to the New Balance global HQ, where construction is underway.
"We see a very successful residential project opening up in the summer of 2018,” said NB Development Group managing director Jim Halliday (below), who is just as optimistic about Boston Landing now as he was in 2015.
“The live/work/play environment being established at Boston Landing is highlighted by the Boston Landing at Allston Brighton commuter rail station, along with 18-hour restaurant, retail and sports activities," he said. NB Development Group is financing and constructing the station, which will be operational in May.
The Residences at Boston Landing will include a mix of studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom units, along with 16k SF of ground-floor retail surrounding the residential lobby entrance.
Besides the New Balance HQ, the 15.2-acre mixed-use Boston Landing is also home to the Boston Bruins Practice and Training Facility at NB’s recently opened Warrior Ice Arena. The Boston Celtics are also set to relocate their practice and training facility to the property, with an opening also scheduled for summer '18.
NB Development Group is the sponsor of the development. Other members of the project team are The HYM Investment Group as development manager, Elkus Manfredi as architect, John Moriarty & Associates as general contractor, and Moran & Co as the real estate investment banker.
