Bulfinch Cos. Quickly Lands Harvard For Vacant Memorial Drive Building
After being empty for only a month, 784 Memorial Drive has landed a new tenant.
Harvard University’s informational technology services department will occupy the entire 61K SF property after Infinity Pharmaceuticals ended its lease eight years early, the Boston Business Journal reports. The biotech company laid off 146 employees in 2016 after it ended a partnership with Chicago-based pharmaceutical company AbbVie and had disappointing trials of a blood cancer drug.
“Harvard’s lease at 784 Memorial Drive expands Bulfinch’s relationship with this prestigious institution, which is an existing tenant in our Harvard Square property,” Bulfinch Senior Vice President and Director of Leasing Mike Wilcox said in a prepared statement.
The four-story building was originally built in 1937 and was home to Polaroid Corp. in the 1940s. JLL Managing Director John Osten, Executive Vice President Molly Heath and Managing Director Peter Bekarian represented Harvard Real Estate in its search for new space.
