Exchange Place Could Sell For $800M
The new home of the Boston Globe is likely hitting the market with a hefty price tag.
UBS Realty Advisors intends to sell Exchange Place in downtown Boston, and the price could reach $800M, the Boston Business Journal reports. UBS bought the 40-story tower at 53 State St. for $610M in 2011 from Brookfield Properties.
While Exchange Place lost law firm Goodwin, a longtime tenant, to the Seaport in 2016, it has since welcomed the Boston Globe and Dataxu. Law firm Nixon Peabody has signed a lease for 105K SF at Exchange Place and is expected to move in by the time its lease at 100 Summer St. expires at the end of January.
Newmark Knight Frank will have the listing, which comes at the same time the firm is marketing Tishman Speyer’s new office building at Pier 4 in the Seaport.
