Retail Gone Gangbusters!
This has been the most expansive period of retail growth for our city, and that's why Bisnow's thrilled to be hosting our fourth annual Boston Retail Real Estate Summit on June 24. In fact, it's been the biggest surge that Samuels prez Joel Sklar has seen in his 25 years in the biz. Joel, who's speaking at our event, tells us the restaurant scene is incredibly hot, with new local and national players. Retailers from the US and abroad are also opening shop: Wegmans, Room & Board, and Japan’s Uniqlo (above) are among them. It’s not just new tenants; the city’s retail base is expanding beyond Newbury Street and Back Bay into the Fenway, Seaport, Downtown Crossing, and the South End, he says.
