Boston’s Fenway neighborhood continues its evolution into an office hub as a Google-backed startup is set to double the size of its headquarters.

Toast, a restaurant software company, announced it will expand its headquarters at Samuels & Associates’ Landmark Center from 37,500 SF to 81K SF. In 2016, the company raised $30M in Series B funding backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and GV, the venture capital arm of Google’s parent company, Alphabet. Toast employs 500 nationwide with more than half working from its Boston office. It expects to hire 250 or more employees in 2017 while it grows into the new space.

“From our founding as a three-person team in a basement to our expansive growth in Landmark Center, we've remained unwavering in delivering the best customer service and restaurant POS system built for restaurant success. Clearly, this commitment has resonated with leading brands across all 50 states,” Toast CEO Chris Comparato said.
