Stanley Black & Decker Opens R&D Facility In Seaport
Stanley Black & Decker opened its 11th Breakthrough Innovation center Monday at Boston’s Innovation and Design Building.
“We recognize that technological innovation is changing the world at an exponentially accelerating pace and that being at the forefront of disruption is essential to success,” Stanley Black & Decker President and CEO Jim Loree said in a statement.
The Seaport site will initially employ 20 people dedicated to technological innovation within the company’s Stanley Security business. Bisnow first reported in February the company was opening the R&D venue. A similar, 5K SF center in Atlanta’s Atlantic Station development opened in 2015.
The Seaport space is next to startup accelerator MassChallenge’s headquarters, which the company said will provide its employees with a great source for inspiration and collaboration.
