Boston Technology

Verizon has tested an Internet connection that can hit 10 GB per second. The technology, NG-PON2, has potential to reach up to 40 to 80 GB per second as demand warrants. Verizon was able to test the new technology to both a business and residential consumer in Framingham after extensive testing in its Waltham laboratories, according to the Boston Business Journal. The speed from this new technology would dwarf that of Google Fiber, which offers downloads of 1 GB per second. [BBJ]
