Lauren O’Neil, Director, HFF
Lauren has real estate in her DNA—her father Jack is a partner at National Development—and has always been a numbers person. She likes fitting together the pieces of the capital stack that help make deals happen. She was on the HFF team that financed the $395M acquisition of One Kendall Square earlier this year but moving up in real estate is more than getting deals done. It’s about asking questions, taking initiative and being well-informed. Meeting as many people as possible is also high on the agenda. She was co-chair of the Heading Home gala last year, which raised $800k. Advice: don’t think of commercial real estate as male dominated. Be a peer; don’t be intimidated by being the only woman in the room.
