A (WET) NIGHT ON THE TOWN
More than 300 guests braved a deluge earlier this week to be among the first in line for the grand opening of University City's Taco Mac. Legacy Real Estate Advisors? David Tschirhart and restaurant co-owner Bob Campbell were chillin? despite the power party ambience and a backdrop of what must have been four dozen hi-def TVs. (Seriously, we lost count.) David, with colleague Adam Williams, reps Taco Mac in Charlotte. Its first Charlotte restaurant opened last fall in SouthPark and another is now under construction in Huntersville. (The University City restaurant is in about 7,500 SF at 517 University City Blvd.) In all, Bob tells us he hopes to open at least three more of the Atlanta-based chain?s stores in the Charlotte market over the next three years. The wings are a signature dish, but Bob?s trying to figure out why only 18% of food sales in Charlotte are wings, while Atlanta spends 25% of its tab on the spicy nibblers. (Hint: We're not a regular, yet.) |
