A WOOD PRODUCT GROWS IN SALISBURY
Universal Forest Products Inc., a manufacturer of wood and wood-alternatives, will expand in Salisbury

Universal Forest Products, a manufacturer of wood and wood alternatives, will expand in Salisbury, adding about 50 jobs  and investing $2.6M over the next three years. The project was made possible in part by an $85k grant  from the state's One North Carolina Fund. The average annual wage for the new jobs will be more than $37k, compared to the Rowan County average of $36k. ?Helping to grow existing North Carolina employers is a key part of our job-creation strategy,? says Gov. Bev Perdue.  UFPI?s products serve the retail, construction, manufactured housing, and industrial markets.  The company and its subsidiaries currently employ more than 300 people in Alamance, Pasquotank, Randolph, and Rowan counties.
