CELGARD TO HIRE 250 IN CONCORD
Charlotte-based Celgard, a wholly owned subsidiary of Polypore International, recently announced plans to expand production capacity in Concord and hire an additional 250 employees, bringing its total roster to 850. The project was made possible in part by state grants from the NC Job Development Investment Grant fund and One North Carolina Grant program. To meet the grant requirements, Celgard plans to create 250 jobs and invest a total of $105M in Cabarrus County over the next two years. The company develops and produces specialty membranes used in the lithium battery industry. We're just glad we don't have to use any ordinary membranes. |
