While most GCs are finding themselves treading water at best these days, the ubiquitous Cox & Schepp continues its remarkable rise. We recently caught up over grits and eggswith Jim Schepp, 49, who co-founded the company withAndy Cox. Approaching its 10th anniversary, C&S employs 170 in markets throughout the SE and is one of the mostprolific builders on the local scene. Jim, an avid outdoorsman and gardener (he tends two coy ponds at home), says C&S has responded to market demand, placing emphasis on healthcare and apartment projects, growth sectors. Jim predicts gross sales this year to top $200M, up from $160M last year. That?ll buy a lot of coy food. (You know the coyest food of all? Lie-ma beans.) |
