MEET OUR SPONSOR: WALKER & DUNLOP
Walker & Dunlop VP Brendan Coleman says that Charlotte's commercial real estate market is resilient. The Queen City was rocked by the economy and consolidation of space by several large banks (creating a lot of shadow space) but managed to stay attractive to businesses and their employees moving to the area. That's great news for the multifamily industry. The company's five-year projections for rent growth and vacancy rates in Charlotte are right in line with national averages. Brendan also tells us that the company is funding an apartment acquisition loan in Charlotte in April with correspondent Medalist Capital. That's a good sign that things are revving up.
