NoDa to Play Nice With Historic Neighbors

Gvest partner principal Jim Shaw and Ty Rhame hit the links at the Sage Valley Golf Club in Graniteville, SC, last weekend, clearly dressed for golfing success. Gvests Yards at NoDa, a 340-unit apartment development in Charlottes historical arts district, is on the verge of groundbreaking, and Jim tells us the urban infill project will blend in with the historic character of the neighborhood. Ty is an equity investor in the project, which started under previous owners in the 2000s but stymied by the recession.

"Historys really important to us, Gvest partner Ray Gee adds. That's why our Charlotte headquarters is in a renovated historic building. And we both have family members who care for the arts. The property will also be TOD in the fullness of time, adjacent to the 36th Street stop on the planned extension of the LYNX Blue Line, which will be completed in 2017, providing transit between Uptown and the University of North Carolina.
