PHILLIPS PLACE PLANS EXPANSION
The owners of the Phillips Place shopping center in SouthPark want to accommodate growth of existing tenants by expanding the retail area by about 10k SF for a total of about 140k SF. Charlotte developer Johnny Harris of Lincoln Harris, along with partners Peter Pappas and Pat Clayton, recently filed a rezoning petition seeking to amend the project?s original site plan. This week, Johnny told us a multitude of tenants, including Dean & DeLuca, have expressed interest in expanding in small increments, but the available space is lacking. ?Basically, we just want to keep our tenants happy and keep 'em here,? Johnny says. A hearing on the request is scheduled for Sept. 19. If all goes accordingly, Johnny says he hopes to get construction under way by next year. No project cost yet and the GC hasn't been selected. The Charlotte office of architectural firm LS3P will design the expansion. |
