RAINIER BREAKS FROM TREND
Rainier Builders hopes to bring to market a $4M, for-sale townhome development at 35th St.
With for-rent multifamily all the rage (it's this year's hot holiday toy for adults), Rainier Builders hopes to bring to market a $4M, for-sale townhome development, an unnamed project proposed on half an acre at 35th Street and Yadkin Avenue. Rainier's Kyle Short tells us the company considered apartments, but nixed the idea in favor of supplying something  ?unique to the market.? (In addition to being one of very few for-sale multifamily projects in Charlotte, the proposed development would include a fourth-floor covered terrace with stainless steel gas fireplaces, TV hookups, and unobstructed views of uptown Charlotte.) The company hopes to build 15 units averaging about 2,250 SF each, and they'll be priced around $250k.A public hearing is scheduled for Feb. 20, and if all goes well, construction would begin in early spring, Kyle says.
