SPRECHEN SIE TRANSMISSIONS?
The ZF Group recently broke ground on a $350M manufacturing plant outside Greenville, SC, in a deal brokered by Red Rock Developments of Charlotte and Columbia, SC. |
Friedrichshafen, Germany-based ZF is expected to employ as many as 900 workers making transmissions for light trucks and passenger cars. That's a 15% jump in ZF?s current US workforce of 5,900. The 975k SF colossus is under construction and should take more than a year to complete. Red Rock is doing the project in a design/build arrangement with mega-contractor Walbridge Southeast. ZF?s Gerhard Wagner (insert Valkyries leitmotif here) says demand for more fuel-efficient automatic transmissions drove the decision. |
