| Please welcome, your winner... of AIA Charlotte's 2012 Sustainability Award: Revolution Park Sports Academy, designed by Charlotte-based Neighboring Concepts. It's a home base for teaching learning and life skills to young people through sports, AIA member Camas Associates? Wayne Camas tells us. The 30k SF rec center is the first LEED certified project for the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Dept. Others noted in the AIA's 2012 accolades were Gantt Huberman Architects with Kieran Timberlake. Their joint project was UNC Charlotte's Center City Building uptown. |
