Completed I-485 Link Will Spur RE Growth
Breaking through a ribbon with a sports car, Gov. Pat McCrory officially opened the last leg of I-485 around Charlotte recently. The 5.7-mile stretch of road, which has been built in fits and starts since the late 1980s, completes the 67-loop around the city. Charlotte was, the governor said, the last major US city not to have a fully completed outer beltway, the Charlotte Business Journal reports. The new road is expected to spur development; a new Publix is already planned near Prosperity Church Road. [CBJ]
