Charlotte’s First Office Evolution Location To Open In University City
Office Evolution, a 24/7 co-working space, is slated to open in March in the University City and Mallard Creek area of Charlotte at 10926 David Taylor Drive. This will be the first Office Evolution in Charlotte.
Office Evolution’s business model is focused on ease of access, according to Office Evolution Charlotte franchise owner Jason Ward.
“We are putting these locations in the suburbs,” he said. “They are close to home, close to major commuting arteries.”
Ward is committed to opening five Office Evolutions in the Charlotte metro area in the next two to three years.
Ward chose the University City area because it offered the components Office Evolution requires of its locations: first floor, 6K to 9K SF, near retail, major highways and commuting neighborhoods. The newly renovated space in Charlotte will be 6K SF with 20 private offices, conference rooms and co-working space.
National co-working companies such as WeWork, Level and Industrious are popular with small-business owners, entrepreneurs and freelancers. They are centered in Charlotte’s Uptown, but a few local companies such as Hygge Coworking and Alt-Biz have ventured outside of Uptown.
“There’s a lot of different opportunities within this market because the trends are so large,” Ward said. “You see businesses focusing on different segments of the market.”
Office Evolution has more than 108 locations open and in development across the U.S. It is a Colorado-based franchise offering co-working space, virtual office services and furnished offices and suites. Membership rates range from $99 to more than $575 per month based on amenities and business needs.
