WeWork Expands In Charlotte
WeWork, a co-working and office space company, opened on the eighth and ninth floors at 615 South College in August, its first location in North Carolina. In 2018, WeWork Stonewall Station will expand to the 10th and 11th floors, almost doubling its space to 90K SF.
"Charlotte is one of the fastest-growing cities and one of the top places to do business,” WeWork General Manager of the Southeast Bobby Condon said. “WeWork wants to contribute to this growth and add to Charlotte's vibrant culture. By expanding our presence here, our goal is to continue to work closely with startup, business and government leaders to further establish the Queen City as a hub for creativity, entrepreneurship and innovation.”
In its first months in Uptown, the company reached almost full capacity. The additional space will add more than 800 desks.
WeWork’s model offers flexibility for a variety of business owners in a range of price points. The “hot desk” guarantees space at one location, the “dedicated desk” promises a specific desk in a shared office at one location, the “private office” is a locked fully furnished space and the “custom build-out” is for a made-to-order design.
WeWork also provides networking events and service packages connecting members to more than 160,000 other WeWork users through its app, with 70% collaborating with one another and 50% doing business together.
WeWork intends to expand its offerings in Charlotte, Condon said.
