Tilt-Up Walls Rise For Jeld-Wen HQ
One of the largest tilt-up construction projects in the Southeast, the 120K SF One Silver Crescent in Ayrsley, has begun the tilt-up phase of its construction. When completed late this year by New Forum, the building will be fully occupied by window and door maker Jeld-Wen Holding.
“We pursued tilt-up construction due mainly to timing and efficiency," New Forum vice president and broker-in-charge William Hodges said. "This method allows for faster construction with less manpower, allowing us to deliver a Class-A headquarters building within Jeld-Wen’s time frame."
The building will feature 30K SF floor plates, and creative elements like 10-foot ceilings, oversized windows, common spaces and exterior public space. New Forum previously used tilt-up construction to build the three-story One Kings Parade building at Ayrsley in 2009.
