Faison Plans Mixed-Use Project On Former Jackalope Jacks Site
The developer Faison is planning to break ground this summer on 60 apartments and 21K SF of commercial space at East Seventh Street and North Caswell Road in the Elizabeth neighborhood of Charlotte. The development will be in two buildings on 1.7 acres, including more than 5K SF of restaurant space and other retail or office uses, the Charlotte Business Journal reports.
In late 2016, Charlotte-based Faison paid about $5M for the site, which is zoned for as many as 100 apartments and 30K SF of commercial space. Previously, the popular sports bar Jackalope Jacks was on the site, but in March that establishment relocated next to the Rabbit Home, a music venue at 1801 Commonwealth Ave.
Faison specializes in multifamily development and acquisition in the Southeast. In recent years, the company has completed projects in Charlotte, Atlanta, Nashville, Durham, Raleigh, Charleston and other cities.
