Does Charlotte Multifamily Still Have Legs?
Does Charlotte's multifamily boom still have enough momentum to absorb new apartments and condos? The experts seem to have faith in sustained success. That's why we're excited to host Bisnow's Charlotte Multifamily Boom event starting at 7:30am on Aug. 18 at the Ritz-Carlton Charlotte.
Selwyn Property Group partner Grey Poole, who will be one of our speakers, tells us that "pre-sales activity is robust on our most recent project, Helix, a 29-unit townhome development in the SouthEnd submarket of Charlotte." Currently, there are 16 units under contract. It's one indication that the demand for for-sale residential, at least in desirable markets, is still pretty strong.
Helix is a JV between between Selwyn and BPA Residential. The townhomes on the 1.1-acre site will be between 1,038 SF and 2,137 SF with the option of one to three bedrooms. "As we anticipated, many of our prospects and buyers currently rent in SouthEnd and are looking to purchase their home in this same area," Grey says.
