Sealed Air Opens HQ In Charlotte
Sealed Air Corp. has officially moved into its new HQ, which is in three buildings totaling 300K SF in LakePoint Corporate Center. The move of the company — which makes Bubble Wrap, among other things — is thought to be the largest corporate relocation in Charlotte history, involving more than 1,100 employees at the 32-acre campus south of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
The company marked its move-in last week with an event that featured Gov. Roy Cooper and other officials. Sealed Air is a big wheel, with about 23,000 employees and customers in 171 countries.
The move is a consolidation of its previous New Jersey HQ along with other offices in Wisconsin, South Carolina, Europe and Latin America. The is the first time that several divisions of the company previously in separate facilities will be working under the same roof.
Childress Klein of Charlotte developed the site, and locally based Shelco built the buildings. Atlanta-based architectural and interior design firm tvsdesign designed the campus, and HOK did the interiors.
"Sealed Air wanted an environment that could give employees working together from different backgrounds and company departments the chance to create cultural synergy,” tvdesign principal David Brown said.
