Uptown Office Still Has Oomph. Here's Why.
The demand for office space Uptown will be strong well into next year, Trinity Partners' John Ball tells us. He offers a few reasons for the trend.
The big picture is that Charlotte is doing very well, John says. "We're fortunate to be in a market that already has an established roster of corporate citizens, and the city continues to be on the radar for potential relocations thanks to our talented employee base, cost of living and (usually) great weather." Equally important are a number of office properties underway that will provide large blocks of Class-A space, he adds.
John says specifically in Uptown, the entire area is evolving with new development, including 615 South College, which Portman started work on last summer, and Crescent’s mixed-use/Whole Foods project. He's repping 615 South College, which he says is part of the evolution.
"We wanted to offer a product that was more than just an efficient floor plate. Companies are looking for ways to recruit and retain talent, and amenities like on-site fitness centers, green spaces and light rail access are of critical importance,” he says. An outdoor green space connects the building to Stonewall Station.
