New Grocer To Sprout In Charlotte
Phoenix-based Sprouts Farmers Market announced six new stores to open in Q2, including a Ballantyne location at 15121 Ballancroft Parkway.
Sprouts is heavily focused on affordable, natural, organic products, including bulk foods and its own Sprouts Brand label. Stores include deli, butcher, fish and vitamins and supplements departments.
Sprouts plans to open 30 new stores across the country this year, including one in Fayetteville next month and one in Simpsonville, South Carolina, in Q2. The company employs more than 27,000 team members and operates more than 280 stores across the country.
Sprouts is not the only grocer to bring stores to the Charlotte area in recent months; German-based Lidl opened stores in Rock Hill, Gastonia, Indian Land and Shelby in September.
Sprouts has been a player in the grocery store wars across the country. Studies show premier organic grocery stores, including Sprouts, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, are popular among investors, homeowners and consumers.
