Ei R&D Going To NC Research Campus
Ei, A Pharmaceutical Solutionworks, inked a lease to move its 24-person R&D team into a 10k SF lab with office space on the third floor of the David H. Murdock Core Laboratory Building (pictured) on the NC Research Campus in Kannapolis. Ei’s R&D is currently housed in the company’s 140k SF semi-solids manufacturing facility, which is also in Kannapolis.
According to Ei chief science officer Charles Gray, the move offers "significant opportunities for collaboration with other research centers on campus." The move to the NCRC also allows the company to add a skin biology research capability, and the facility offers a concentration of scientific expertise on the health benefits of antioxidants and other bioactive compounds found in fruits and vegetables, naturally occurring compounds that are regularly incorporated into skin care products.
