Google Fiber is a Game-Changer
Google Fiber, which is coming to Charlotte to provide ultra-high-speed Internet service, is going to impact the local real estate market too, according to the speakers at a recent local ULI event called "Real Estate and the Future of Connectivity." They noted that building owners should be more careful than ever about the deals they make with ISPs, since poor service will drive tenants away, the Charlotte Business Journal reports. Among other things, developers of new properties should be adding vacant conduit space for future fiber needs. [CBJ]
