Members of the real estate social network REVerb got off the Internet to meet in real life on Thursday at Brando's Speakeasy in the South Loop. We snapped HLR Engineering's Yantong Zhao, The Karma Group's Jimish Desai, and Kennedy Wilson's Daniel Parsow. Yantong says his firm is very busy in the infrastructure department right now, but not doing much work on buildings. Jimish said Karma recently acquired a 384-unit apartment complex in Dallas and is looking for acquisition and development opportunities in healthcare and apartments in Chicago. |
Dunne Real Estate Capital's Jim Dunne, ChicagoHomeMarket.com's Drew Shreeves,and The Office Connection's Christian Swiencki. Jim is looking at acquiring or financing busted condo projects, especially in the overbuilt South Loop and West Loop but says prices haven't come down far enough yet. Christian recently helped IIT purchase lounge furniture for one of its new buildings. This means it will take a rocket scientist to figure out the chairs are comfortable, simply because the school has a lot of rocket scientists. |
