16" BROKER B-BALL WEEKLY ROUNDUP
June 7, 2012
Player of the Week: JLL 1's Brian Recsetar, who was 4 for 4, had a home run and two RBIs and mounted a sterling defense in JLL 1's 12-3 win over Mid America. |
Off the field: Brian is a senior associate in JLL's strategic consulting group, working with clients to design, develop, and roll out business intelligence programs for their CRE. |
Postgame Schmooze: Zeller Realty and Reed Illinois Construction presided over a rambunctious bunch of 130 brokers at Gamekeepers (is there any other kind of broker on the weekend?). Bill Barry of Draper & Kramer hosted the Karaoke Korral, with former championship manager Steve Monroe leading off the night with a rousing version of "Folsom Prison Blues" (is there any other version?). |
FIELD 1: GOLUB 23, TRANSWESTERN 13. It was a back-and-forth game, but ultimately Golub chipped at TW's early lead and took command. TW is still looking for the spark to make them competitive. |
FIELD 2: COLLIERS 16, MB 1. Colliers continues to perform when not under pressure and demolished MB in a 16-1 disaster. |
FIELD 3: INLAND AMERICA 8, CTK PARTNERS 3. Congratulations to Inland for its first victory since joining the league in the 2010 season. Give lots of credit to Jason Volk for staying positive and hanging tough through the hard times. |
FIELD 4: TISHMAN SPEYER 13, BRADFORD ALLEN 0. Rob Mason has brought TSP back to its glory days of 1986 and '87, when they won back-to-back championships, led by none other than Richard "Bowie" Klein. |
FIELD 5: JLL 1 12, MID AMERICA 3. It doesn't look like the dilution of JLL into two squads has hurt last year’s champs that much, taking down an inconsistent MA. |
FIELD 6: J.F. McKINNEY 12, CB 1. Ari Glass was back to his mid-90s form going 3-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, and the second-best hurler in the league, Jim Hickey, also added a 3-3 night with two runs scored and four RBIs. |
FIELD 7: UGL 12, KLEIN’S CORPORATE 9. Klein’s started strong, pushing three across in the first. Then the wheels came off and UGL’s power hitters took advantage. |
