Ask Stupid Questions If Necessary
September 20, 2012
Corporate real estate execs gathered recently for CoreNet Chicago’s “Tales from the Trenches” annual event, which this year focused on the global trenches—that is, tales of corporate real estate in the wider world. Panelists included Northern Trust's Martin Clarke, DTZ’s Patrick Miller, HOK’s Leigh Stringer, Motorola Solutions’ Buddy Knipfer, and Mace Group’s Greg Parker. Some takeaways: Don’t be afraid to ask stupid questions, especially as it pertains to another country’s business practices. And you can be your own worst enemy if you think you know how your overseas foray is going to turn out. | |
We also snapped Leopardo’s Dan Ulbricht, Motorola’s Paula Mengarelli and Buddy Knipfer, and Leopardo’s Nicole Bobula. Engineering News-Record recently named the Hanover Park Police Headquarters, built by Leopardo, Midwest Best Project of 2012 in the government/public building category. (Riot police were on hand in case the celebration got out of hand. Or they might have just been there to accept the award. It was unclear as of press time.) |
