Our study halls never looked like this. Gensler's David Broz showed members of IFMA around one of Columbia College's new computer/study areas, which includes nestable tables and an almost-drop ceiling that reduces noise levels. The project is one of 15 that Gensler has worked on with the school, which has a student population just under 12,000.

U.S. Equities Brian Lafer, Clune Construction's Jen Clune (whose company also had a hand building the space), and Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP's Esther Diamond. Gensler's Lindsey Feola tells us the budget was small, but they managed some classy elements, like those slate-looking tiles (they're actually ceramic with dyed grout) and a sparkly staircase (existing staircase coated with sequined acrylic handrail).
