Big Box Industrial, Another Story
April 18, 2012
Big box retail may be withering somewhat, but big box industrial is flourishing as evidenced by M Block & Sons’ recent 915k SF lease in Tinley Park, says Newmark Knight Frank Epic principal Jeff Locascio (center, white shirt). Jeff, who repped M Block, tells us that when the tenant started looking for space eight months ago, there were three or four buildings of 750k SF or more available. Now, there’s one. Like M Block, the companies absorbing the big industrial spaces are those distributing or selling goods to retailers and end users such as supermarkets and manufacturers. (Even Newmark's overhead light is a big box space.) |
