CBRE MARKETS LAKESHORE LAND
June 22, 2011
Looking for your own little piece of Lake Michigan? You can buy it from CBRE's Tony Gange and Matt Ishikawa. The duo is marketing 37 acres of a former military base in Highwood and Highland Park along Patten Road. The 1,100 feet of lakeshore property is the last left in such a prestigious location just a few miles north of the city, Matt tells us. He's hoping it will attract a residential or resort user, since the site is a little too tucked away to be ideal for retail. It's still surrounded by military uses from Fort Sheridan to the north and south, but the barracks on the site have been torn down to leave lots of land ideal for home sites or maybe even one large private residence, Matt tells us. Asking price: $25M. Being in a social stratum where building a home on a property this size is even within a modicum of a possibility: priceless. |
