CLOUD-Y WORKPLACE
Cisco’s Relina Bulchandani
Tech equipment giant Cisco Systems is scouting downtown Chicago to build a new Smart Work Center that allows Cisco employees to telecommute. The news came from Cisco’s Relina Bulchandani, who handles real estate for the company, during CoreNet Global’s annual summit in Atlanta earlier this week. Details were few about the project, but Relina says it may be developed in a public-private partnership with Chicago’s government. “We're not there yet; we're still in the planning phase,” she said during a panel focused on changes in workplace technology. Cisco’s workforce already uses the cloud to work, so the need for a centralized office is becoming increasingly unimportant. And telecommuting is giving Cisco $277M in “time savings,” she tells us.
