C&W REBUILDS MULTIFAMILY TEAM
October 24, 2011
Recessionary pressures led to the departure of Cushman & Wakefield's multifamily team in '08; now, the company has re-dedicated its efforts, looking to take advantage of the change in the psychology of homeownership. We snapped its Chris Sackley this morning in his Rosemont office; the CBRE vet joined in August and brought on former NAI Hiffman senior director Bill Montana as his partner two weeks ago. The pair will focus on brokering institutional quality buildings throughout the Midwest, where Chris says more Gen-Y'ers are renting instead of buying. There's also those who want to maintain maximum mobility, which should mean continued high occupancy for apartments. Bill and Chris already have their first listing confirmed: a 222-unit apartment complex in Mount Prospect, where occupancies are 94% to 98% in most buildings. |
