Chicago Takes TOBYs
June 28, 2012
Bisnow was at the Every Building Conference & Expo in Seattle this week (we were the official show daily producer), and so we were on hand to see Chicago take home some TOBYs, the Oscars of property management. |
Chicago won t he Historical Building Award, which goes to a building at least 50 years old with its original design maintained. The prize went to the Rookery, which was built in 1888 (it's on the National Register of Historic Places and an official Chicago landmark). Above: BOMA chairman Boyd Zoccola, Kimberly-Clark Professional's Dan DeCriscio, Buck Management Group's Louise Harney, TJ Brookover, and Betsy Traczek, BOMA Chicago's Michael Cornicelli, and TOBY chair Bruce Koehler. |
Winning in the 1M SF-plus category was Hyatt Place, Irvine Cos' 49-story, 1.5M SF, LEED Platinum tower with plenty of sparkling glass and open green space. Joining the award presenters and Michael are Jones Lang LaSalle's David Hopwood and Irvine Cos' Mike Bennett. Congrats to all! |
