Cool Crib With Staying Power
As luck would have it, Eastlake Studio signed its lease in Tribune Tower on October 19, 1987, the day the stock market crashed. But both the architecture firm and the building (the result of the first international architectural competition) survived, now coexisting in cool crib harmony. Eastlake's studio is located right at the top of the flying buttresses in the Trib Tower's octagonal floor plans (jealous, design geeks?), providing unbeatable Michigan Ave and Chicago River views, principal Tom Zurowski tells us. The company can't wait for happy hour this spring at the new bar/restaurant in the building, Howells & Hood (named after the architects who built it), he added. Do you have a cool looking office? Tell us about it.
