Diversity in White Cubes
White Cube's Tak O'Haru first came to the US in the '90s seeking a more diverse business community. He found it, and enriched that talent pool by becoming a broker and consultant to Asian firms looking for office and industrial spaces in the Chicago area.

He's closing in on his biggest deal yet, a 90k-SF lease in the northwest suburbs, and is listing a 42k-SF space in Glendale Heights  for a Japanese company. Tak founded White Cube two years ago as an affiliate of NAI Hiffman and has since signed 17 deals. Representing mostly Japanese, Chinese, and Korean clients, Tak coordinates the leasing process from start to finish, working with brokers, contractors, and insurance companies.

Tak is also working with NAI to list McShane's Huntington 90 business park in Hoffman Estates. Tak spent 22 years working in the printing ink division for TOYO INK, and it's also where he got the idea to use a color in the name of his own firm. White represents honesty and integrity; “Cube” represents buildings. Tak believes that he can apply the same mental strength he uses in business to his other passion: rugby. Someday he hopes to start a non-profit to help disadvantaged kids develop their athletic skills.
