Extreme Table Settings
We're not quite ready for Christmas lights yet, but the Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS has no hesitation; its three-day Dining By Design at the Merchandise Mart included 41 tables designed by architects, artists, and other industry professionals, like this one by RL where we snapped Gensler's Todd Baisch and Commercial Carpet Consultants' Michele Rust. The event included a silent auction, cocktail party, dinner, and open house for viewing tables and expected to raise more than $150,000. |
Showing their table: Dobbins Group's Alex Vaysman, Jillian Harris, and Lindsey Kirleis. Jillian, TV's most recent ?Bachelorette? just moved to Chicago with her fiance and reports she's loving it. She also loved designing the table, which was themed ?man-glam,? with its dark colors. The group spent under $200 on the design, making use of donated materials and showing you can design on a dime. |
