At the Illinois Real Estate Journal's Downtown Office conference at 330 N. Wabash, J.F. McKinney's Jack McKinney (between MB Real Estate's Andy Davidson and Colliers Bennett and Kahnweiler's David Burden) laid out incentives landlords are offering in the increasingly vacant downtown office market. With vacancy up to 14%, he says free rent is on the table because landlords don't have the capital stack. He blames the stalled market on a game of mistrust, with too much investigation of ownership. |
